Northern Marianas College is a community college located in Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands. The college was established in 1976 and classes started for the first time 5 years later. The college initially aimed at training employees and teachers for the CNMI Public School System. In 1983, the college established was recognized as a public non-profit corporation based on the public law 3-43 before establishing two years later its independent board of trustees. The accreditation was reconfirmed in 1990, 1996 and 2001. The college received in the same year accreditation from the Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges & Universities of WASC to offer bachelor degree programs.
The college states that its mission is to provide high quality, affordable and accessible education to the people of the United States Commonwealth. The college campus covers 14 acres containing 23 buildings. The official colors of the college are red and black.
