A private baccalaureate college, Colby-Sawyer was established through the efforts of a group of New London citizens who received the charter for establishing a college in the year 1837. It opened up for instructions the next year by 1837 and was named New London Academy. By 1878 it as renamed as Colby Academy. It transitioned several ways over the years, and by 1943 started offering baccalaureate programs.
The college was renamed to its present name, Colby-Sawyer College in 1975 and the addition was made to honor the first president of the college. It is based in New London, New Hampshire and since its beginning has been engaged in achieving intellectual excellence among its students. At present, with its liberal arts and sciences programs, it aims to prepare students for lifelong success.
The campus at Colby-Sawyer provides with a vibrant and creative environment. Students find themselves involved in over 45 student groups and organisations which present a variety of academic and other skill learning opportunities. There is Campus Activities Board (CAB) which brings events and entertainment for the students but also presents a great opportunity for leadership, organisational and interpersonal skills by leading and participating at the Board. DWC was a private college that was founded in the year 1965 as the New England Aeronautical Institute. Initially the college was affiliated with what is now the Nashua Airport, however in 1978 in a merger with its junior college division, it transformed into Daniel Webster College. The college went through financial difficulties entering the 21st century and so was taken over by ITT Educational Services, Inc. in 2009. With it, the college also changed to a for profit institute.
This did not help the situation, hence the college filed bankruptcy and has now been conducting classes under the Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), through the teach out program. The college was based in Nashua, New Hampshire. It continued under ITT Educational Service, Inc. till 2016 after which it was taken over and the students were provided with the option of enrolling with SHNU.
Before the transfer to SNHU, Daniel Webster College offered an exciting campus life to its students with every resource for growth and development. The students enjoyed student led clubs and organisations and found plenty of opportunities for learning skills, connecting with each other and improving communication. Not only this, the student run organisations also improved the leadership development in its students. The college’s resources and programs have been transferred to SHNU however it still maintains its student activities in the same spirit of DWC. The college also continues its athletic programs under the new institute but before the transfer the college’s athletic teams ‘Eagles’ participated at the NCAA Division III, through 15 varsity teams. Its mascot was ‘Eagle’ and the campus colors were Red and Blue.
Academic programs offered at DWC before the transfer consisted of 17 Bachelors programs and nine online programs which also include MBA. As of present, under SHNU, the college continues to offer all of the existing programs through the teach out facility providing an accredited institute while the parent institute, ITT Educational Service, Inc. closes down.

Franklin Pierce University is a private non-profit university that was established in 1962 by Frank S. DiPietro. It was named in honor of the 14th president of the United States. The university was initially named Franklin Pierce College till 2007 when it was accredited as a University. The first class at the college started in 1963 with only 100 students and 6 full time professors in a campus containing only four buildings. Since its establishment the number of enrolled students increased several times which required the continuous building of additional spaces.
The University main campus covers 1200 acres in Rindge, New Hampshire with several distinctive buildings including Monadnock Hall, Cheney Hall, Marcucella Hall, the Fitzwater Center, Petrocelli Hall, the Pappas Center, and the Yvonne S. Granite State College (GSC), also commonly known by Granite, is a public four-year university system educational institute that is located in New Hampshire State in the United States. Keene State College is a public liberal arts college located in Keene, New Hampshire. It is a member of the University System of New Hampshire and of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges. The college was established in 1909 as Keene Normal School. Its name was changed to Keene Teachers College before being renamed to its current name.

Mount Washington College is a for-profit private higher education institute located in Manchester, New Hampshire. The college was established in 1900 under the name of Hesser Business College. The college followed since its establishment educational policy that aimed at providing personal support and encouragement to each of its students. In 1975, the college opened its first branch campus in Nashua followed by the establishment of additional campuses in Portsmouth, Salem, and Concord. In 2013, the college got its current name and it also started offering online degree programs in the same year. New England College is a private non-profit college found in Henniker, New Hampshire. The college was established in 1946 to provide educational opportunities for the students who intended to join higher education on the G.I. bill after participating in the World War II. During the early years of the college, the Tortington Park School for girls in Arundel in West Sussex, England was purchased to act as a branch campus for students wishing to study abroad. At that time, the college changed its logo to include the flags of both England and the United States. The theater department used to send its students to the branch campus to perform three shows in Europe. However, the branch campus was later closed and sold.

New Hampshire Institute of Art is a private non-profit higher education institute that offers educational programs focusing on creative arts. The school was established in 1898 under the name of “Manchester Institute of Arts and Sciences”. It aimed at stimulating more educational and research efforts focusing on history, literature and industrial institutes. Plymouth State University (PSU) is a public coeducational university located in Plymouth, New Hampshire. The university was established in 1870 under the name of Plymouth Normal School. Plymouth was selected by the board of trustees to establish the new school. In 1874, the college was reorganized into training schools under the supervision of the normal school. In 1890, the college campus was expanded by building a new academic hall which is known as Rounds Hall in addition to a new dormitory. SNHU is a private but also a non profit higher education institute that started in 1932 as a training institute offering education and training in accounting methods. UNH is one of the public research universities of the University System of New Hampshire, the roots of which go back to the New Hampshire College of Agriculture and the Mechanic Arts which was founded in 1866 under the Morrill Grant Act of 1862. There is also formal leadership training offered for leadership development and efforts recognized through Awards. It is the Student Union on campus that governs all these activities and serves as student activity hub. Students also take active part in recreation programs for the students on campus. These include aquatics, intramural sports, sports clubs, and fitness programs. There is also the athletic participation which is most enjoyed by the students, at NCAA Division I. The teams are called ‘Wildcats’, the campus colors are Blue and White and the mascot is the ‘Wild E. Cat’.

Dartmouth is a private liberal arts institute that traces its beginning to the year 1769 when it was founded by a Californian Congregational minister, Rev. Eleazar Wheelock. Wheelock wanted to establish an institute to train Native Americans for ministries but lacked funds and resources. After a long struggle for funds and location, which it received and hence attained a charter by Royal Governor of New Hampshire in 1769.
The college found its permanent home in Hanover, New Hampshire and as of today is an Ivy League affiliated college. Immersed in knowledge formation and constructive leadership, Dartmouth College has been the backbone behind 3 Nobel Prize laureates, 79 Rhodes Scholars, 26 Marshall Scholarship recipients, 13 Pulitzer Prize winners, MacArthur Genius fellows, and others.
Dartmouth brings a campus life, creating a sense of community among its students; it brings out a sense of shared purpose. There are over 160 student clubs and organisations ranging from politics, arts, recreation, service and many more. There are also Greek clubs and honor societies. The main activity hub for the students is the Collis Center for Student Involvement which allows plenty of relationship building and socialising chances outside of academic environment. Some traditional annual events held are Bonfire, Green Key @ Collis, Graduation Gala and others. Arts are also enthusiastically pursued and not just academically as students take part in musical, theatre, dance and film programs all year round. Students get involved in community services and causes; working with local organisations to provide food, shelter, health services, and living practically sustainable lives both on and off campus. There are recreational opportunities including outdoor trips, adventure as well as athletic participation at NCAA Division I. The teams are called ‘Big Green’ and the campus color is Dartmouth Green.

Northeast Catholic College is a non-profit private 4 year Catholic college. The college was established in 1973 under the name of Magdalen College. The college received its charter in the same year and the first class started in the following year consisting of 16 students. Students were taught by 2 professors and 3 assistants at the college campus in Bedford, New Hampshire which was formerly used as a motel. By 1988, the college was facing financial difficulties as the enrollment reached 39 students only. The college received a donation that helped the college to continue operating and to develop a new campus that was opened in 1991. It is currently the smallest college in New Hampshire with less than 100 enrolled students. In the period between 2008 and 2010, the college studied the possibility to merge or unify with Thomas More College of Liberal Arts. In 2010, the name of the college was changed to “The College of Saint Mary Magdalen”. The name was change again five years later to the current one which was also associated with the declaration of new “Career Pathways Program”, and new co-patronage under Pope John Paul II. In 2016, the college was the first one in the United States to use the Classic Learning Test instead of using the SAT and ACT tests.
The college campus is located in Warner, New Hampshire covering 135 acres. It includes 13 buildings surrounded by pine and hardwood forest. Important buildings on campus include Queen of Apostles Chapel, St. Augustine Library, St. Joseph’s Dormitory and St. Mary’s Dormitory.
The college offers undergraduate programs in 5 majors granting associate and bachelor degrees. Its curriculum is based on the study of the Great Books. The college offers its students to study each summer at Rome and Norcia. The college was accredited in the period between 2010 and 2012 by the American Academy for Liberal Education till the academy lost its recognition as an accrediting organization.
